ROUND CAPIZ AND SHELL CHIME

Made of capiz shell, these colorful shell chimes really sparkle! Several strands of capiz shells have been interspersed with eye-catching pieces of iridescent natural shell pieces to create this beachy decoration. Each chime comes equipped with a round metal ring for easy hanging. 

Capiz shells are the outer shell of a marine mollusk more commonly known as "windowpane oyster." Philippine capiz shells are so named because they were originally harvested from the shallow coastal waters near the town of Capiz, on the island of Panay. Once cleaned, the shells are naturally translucent and, when painted, allow for a glorious interplay between light and color.
